You can throw almost any book in the Book of Hours game at my model while I'm streaming Book of Hours.
To throw a book, use the 100 channel point "Book Thrower" redeem and type a book name. If you're a Twitch subscriber, one of my Twitch mods, or one of my Twitch VIPs, you get an unlimited number of book throws. The book will get thrown and you get your points refunded immediately.
- This only works on https://www.twitch.tv/EldraEcho because I don't know how to make it work for YouTube yet
- This only applies to books in Book of Hours, so books that are only available in Cultist Simulator and potential books from Travelling at Night, as well as IRL books, will not be triggered (I don't remember if any books appear solely in Cultist Simulator and not in Book of Hours)
- You can trigger them with their in-game JSON file name, their in-game user-facing label, their Chinese names, their Japanese names, or their Russian names (so chioneatabydos, Chione at Abydos, 喀俄涅在阿拜多斯城, アビドスのキオネー, Хиона в Абидосе would all drop the same book)
- The language used to trigger the book throw will match the visual of the book thrown if possible (not every book in the game has a special variant for every language, e.g. the skill manuscripts use the same image across languages)
- Some degree of name fuzziness has been implemented in case you misspell a book's name in English (up to 3 typos)
However, this does not move the books from their actual positions in the library and applies to all books, regardless of whether I've unlocked them on a specific playthrough or not.
What books can you actually throw?
- Standard readable books, scrolls, phonograph records, etc. (281 items)
- Uncatalogued books (5 periods total)
- Any of the origin-specific journals, including A Drowned Book (the generic uncatalogued journal) (10 journals total)
- The skill-based manuscripts (73 manuscripts total)
That's 369 items, and they're throwable in English, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian. I don't speak Chinese, Japanese, or Russian, so the translations were based on what was available in the game's translation files. Not every item has a language-specific image associated with it (e.g. the manuscripts) but for those that do (e.g. many of the readable books) a language-specific variant should drop down on my model based on the language of the chatter. For items that do not have a language-specific variant in Chinese, Japanese, or Russian, the item will drop the English language variant.
**Why does the book thrower take commands in those four languages?**
Those are the four official translations for Book of Hours and the four languages that have special assets for the books.
